Love is enough: though the world be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the skies be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming there under,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder,
And this day draw a veil over all deeds passed over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter:
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

A Series of Fortunate Events

it all began on last Thursday, 6th Of April 2006.
it was my dear brother, Derick's, 29th birthday.
we had dinner at the new chinese restaurant at Great World City with 2 of his friends and my parents.
it was a sumptuous meal indead.
we had shark's fin, lobster, bamboo clams.. etc.
derick wanted a seafood dinner, so there it was!

but the highlight of that day wasn't the yummilicious meal.
but a sibling love i experienced, which is something i've longed to have.
i bought my brother 2 lovely tops from topman.
and before i presented the gift to him, i was so worried if he'd like it or not.
but thankfully, he loved it.
he wore it during dinner! (look at the picture! its a cowboy shirt. :))
and he was so surprised that i gave him a gift and so thankful at the same time, he opened his arms to give me a hug.
although i was stupefied, i was overwhelmed with love too.
it has been so long since we've hugged.
and i was so happy. :)

i was down with a sore throat then, but it didn't bring my spirits down.
i didn't go to school on Friday, 'cos i needed to rest.
but i had a wonderful night with my 2 best girlfriends in school, Ashley and Pearl.
it was our first proper date together, and we celebrated my birthday in advance at the same time too!
we ate at the Balcony (i finally went there, yes!) and the food was surprisingly not that expensive.
so we had a delightful meal followed by very (may i repeat that) very sinful indulgence afterwards.
we headed to esplanade's Max Brenners, and we indulged ourselves with monstrous amount of chocolate!
we had chocolate fondue, dark java chocolate with orange peel and a milk chocolate suckao.
our fats were yelling "no more no more!"
but we still gobbled everything down. :D

Saturday started early in the zoo.
my darling and i had a wonderful wonderful day there.
and i was hoping so badly for the rest of my bestest best friends to be there with us.
but they all said they couldn't make it.
but the truth was, serr and them conspired to surprise me after i've toured around the zoo!
serr pretended to want to buy Ben&Jerry's, but was actually leading me to my friends!
and they were all there. :)
Karina, Sabrina, Tanessa and Tricia.
their presence was enough to make me smile from ear to ear, but there was more!
the waiter brought out a HUGE tub of Ben&Jerry's.
18 different scoops of ice-cream altogether
it was SO SO SO yummilicious!
and i am a sucker for chocolate and anything sweet.
imagine the toll i've put on my fats and stomach..
and not to mention my very bad sore throat.
but it was too good to resist.
and i was immensely touched by my dear friends. :)

we headed back home to have steamboat at my balcony.
my dad opened a bottle of his best wines, year 2002.
and we sat down together sipping our wines and chit-chatting away, while we cooked our food in the steaming hot pot.
they stayed all the way till 12 midnight, and sang a birthday song for me.
by then, i have already lost my voice.
and i couldn't tell them how thankful i am, and how touched i was, for everything.
but i hope they know, that they made my birthday the best birthday i have ever had.
i love all of you, very much.

and on that same night, i met with another surprise!
after gorging down the steamboat food,
Dinah and Ming (my sweetest junior ever) rang my doorbell,
and presented me with a box of apple pies and chocolate and blueberry muffins!
they have no idea how surprised i was.
and it was such a wonderful wonderful wonderful surprise.
'cos it was all so unexpected.
and i'm so honoured to be remembered in their hearts, even though i wouldn't think i'm of much importance to them.
but i was wrong, and i'm so blessed to be able to be their friend.

the next morning, my dad came home with a bouquet of flowers.
yet, another wonderful surprise.
my parents spent 2 hours finding the perfect card and bouquet in the morning just for me.
and i can't be thankful enough.
my brother too gave me a gift.
and he also had pains searching for something to give me.
in the end, an old school micky mouse shirt.
did the trick. :)

there is so much love going on this weekend, my terrible flu was unable to bring me down. although now i am unable to get out of bed, and unable to breathe,
it was all worth it.
i had the best birthday in my short 18 years of life.
and it wouldn't have happen if i hadn't have such fabulous family and friends.
and i hope they know that i am so thankful for everyone of them, and moved by all the sweet love they've given me.

to all of you,
thank you.
